Macedo de Cavaleiros

Legend has it that, during Moorish times, there lived two knights who used strong maces in combat, which is why everyone knew them as the mace knights. They were so brave and strong that their fame, already a runner in the world, reached the ears of the king, who, after watching, enraptured, the feats of the knights, decided to grant them great honor, calling the place Macedo de Cavaleiros. It is a land of simple and hospitable people where they say: “Those who are here send here to Marão!”
