What can you see?
Cachão da Rapa is, undoubtedly, one of the most important sites of prehistoric Portuguese cave painting. The paintings are arranged on the smooth, vertical plane of a granite panel over 4 meters high. On this surface, a sequence of schematic motifs is arranged with a predominance of rectangular and quadrangular geometric shapes expressed in shades of ochre red and dark blue, almost black. The geometric inspiration of the authors of this manifestation gives the artistic ensemble a unique peculiarity in the prehistoric painting of Portuguese territory.
